The crisp air and the beautiful blanket of snow turn's Algonquin Park into a winter wonderland and after experiencing the outdoors nothing is hotter than a roaring fire, a glass of champagne and your own bubbling Jacuzzi.

Cold Canadian winters don't mean that you have to hibernate during the chilly season— embrace the frigid temps and get out there and have some fun! Algonquin Park is home to some world-class winter venues and we provide Free Daily Park Pass at our Office.
Couples Resort contributes to the Township Outdoor Rink, so that you can have an Authentic Canadian Experience of Skating Outdoors. The rink is a short 15 minute walk into town. For times open for general skating or skirmish hockey (all invited) please see the office.
The Resort provides free Skates provided up to size 14.
Algonquin Park has International quality ski trails that are perfectly track set and for the athlete these trails also have a skating lane.

Algonquin has 48 kilometres of groomed and 23 kilometres of non-groomed cross-country ski trails available in three trail networks. Trails range in degree of difficulty from easy to difficult. Ski trails typically open in December and close in March, but obviously are subject to weather conditions. Check the latest ski trail conditions to ensure you are prepared.
Two great spots for snowshoeing are through the Algonquin outdoor Logging Museum Trail, The Spruce Bog Boardwalk Trail or endless Campgrounds along hwy 60 Corridor in the Park.

Many winter visitors enjoy observing the tracks of deer, Moose, martens, Fishers, otters, foxes and wolves and occasionally, the animals themselves. Birds such as the Common Raven, Gray Jay, Boreal Chickadee and colourful winter finches are also frequently seen. Check the latest winter birding report for what is being seen and where.
Walking the Spruce Bog Boardwalk Trail in search of northern bird species such as Spruce Grouse, Gray Jay, and Black-backed Woodpecker, or exploring the Opeongo Road are popular winter activities for birders and wildlife watchers.
Parking is available at most of the self-guided interpretive trails along Highway 60 during the winter months, however, regular trail maintenance only from early May to late October.
Algonquin Park's Visitor Centre is open daily, (see the Events Calendar for specific operating dates and hours) has exhibits on the Park's natural and human history, a relaxing restaurant and an excellent bookstore. A theatre presentation sums up the Park story and then takes you out to the viewing deck from where you can admire a breathtaking panorama of wild Algonquin landscape.
The horse ranch, operating year round, is a 2 minute drive from the resort with bookings made at our front office. There is a beautiful wilderness trail to ride.
Mush your own team of four huskies on stunning trails. Your tour guide will give you on-site lessons and then will lead you on a great dog-sledding adventure. The trip departs nearby from the resort's Adventure Stables and into Algonquin. Each trip expereince with greet, train and go is approximately 1 hour.

We recommend that you bring layers for under our shell, for those really brisk days.
Bring Your Own - The main trail system is 1 km away and easy to sled to. Lots of parking at resort.
